October wasn’t just a big month for Zanda but also marked the first UK Labour government budget. With rising taxes on employer contributions, capital gains, and carried interest, this increasing cost for small businesses sparks concern about talent and capital retention. For executive leaders, this shift opens up discussions on how businesses can adapt to attract and retain top talent despite tighter budgets and potential hesitancy among investors. We are on hand for any UK founders unsure of how to navigate the hiring market, now the UK’s tax environment has become less favourable.

Praetura Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Manchester, that focuses on backing businesses in the North. Founded in 2011 to support the many early-stage businesses in the North of England that were struggling to get funding and had to look to London for investment opportunities.
